Mallory's Very Own Sprayground

Last week I happened upon this fabulous little "sprayground" kiddie pool and just had to have it for Mallory. Here she is playing in it for the first time. She had a ton of fun!!!

At least once a week, I find myself in Hobby Lobby. Mallory loves it because she makes "friends" with all the merchandise! On two different days, she begged me to take a picture of her with her new "friends".

And, I couldn't do a post without a picture of little Jack! Here he is his wearing Josh's baseball cap. Of course I think he's just the cutest thing I've ever seen!!! :-)

Birthday Blessings

This month is FULL of birthdays around our house. We celebrated the birth of the 2nd baby girl into our family when Scarlett Grace Gentry was born to my brother and sister-in-law (Chad & Tennille) on Friday, August 7th. She's absolutely adorable and so tiny!!! It's hard to believe Mallory and Jack were ever that small.

Six days after Scarlett's birthday, cousin Micah turned 1 year old!!! We celebrated with my sister and brother-in-law (Kristin & Jamy) and the whole family on Saturday night. Kristin did an ocean ONE-derland theme that was so cute!!!!

We have one more BIG birthday to celebrate this month (Brad turns 40!!!), but we'll have a post later about that! :-)

Jack is really moving and grooving! He'll walk holding on to the coffee table and all around his pack-n-play and crib. It won't be long before he lets go and really takes off!

Peek-a-boo!!!

Mallory LOVES to play dress up. Our sweet friend, Mrs. Peggy, gave Mallory this dress when we were at her house last week. It was one her daughter wore many years ago. It has become Mallory's favorite play dress and she never wants to take it off!

An Evening of Golf

One night last week we went to the golf course with Nana & Papa for a round of golf. We girls just rode along, but we all had so much fun!!!

Mallory loved riding in the golf cart!!! And she couldn't wait to get to each hole that had a cooler of water! She was our personal water girl and loved it!!

Jack loved to ride in the cart, too. He would hold his hands up like he was on a roller coaster and laugh so loud! It was precious!!!

When we weren't riding, Jack's favorite thing was to dig in the cart basket and pull everything out of his diaper bag.

Needless to say, we ALL had a lot of fun. I hope we do it again really soon!

Jack's Party

Well, Jack's birthday party was a huge hit!!! After months of planning and preparation, it was definitely a grand slam day. Back when I was pregnant and found out we were having a baby boy, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do for his first birthday. It just had to be a BASEBALL theme because I wanted to celebrate his "rookie season"!!! So, here's the invitation I created:

I decorated banquet size tables with blue tablecloths, sprinkled with bubble gum, cracker jack boxes, and baseball trading cards.
I hung a 1st birthday banner and "homerun" balloons & streamers from the fireplace.
I made a centerpiece using a Texas Rangers batting helmet, balloons, cracker jacks, a picture of Jack in a baseball outfit, and a pennant. Beside it I had two photos of Jack in baseball frames.
This is the table with the cokes, ice cream, cake, and party favors. The party favors were ice cream cone cups filled with a baseball boo-boo ice pack, baseball kleenex, and a baseball whistle.
This is the table for the FOOD: Baseball theme food, of course! Hot dogs and nachos!!! I wrapped each person a fork, knife, and spoon in a paper napkin wrapped with a baseball and #1 label. These were placed in popcorn containers and set beside the plates.
I made Jack's cake in the shape of a baseball glove and made additional baseball cupcakes.
Our birthday boy was dressed in a "Little Slugger" baseball cap, Lil Slugger striped shortall, and baseball shoes!!!
Here's our family of four!!!
Jack seemed to enjoy his cake!!
Except for wanting his hands to be cleaned!!! "Clean it off, Mama!" :-)
He also loved helping open the presents! Big Sister, Mallory, was a BIG help with this, too!!!
He couldn't wait to dive in and see what he got!!
Overall, it was a fabulous, fun day! I can't believe he's one. It's unbelievable. We went to the doctor for his 1 year checkup and he's 30 inches long and weighs 21lbs., 14 oz. Ok, time can freeze now!
