Bedroom Makeover for Mallory

For Mallory's birthday this fall, I have been planning to redecorate her room.  Ever since she was three, she's been using the same bedding that I used in my room when I was in college.  It is a beautiful Croscill comforter with a sweet eyelet dust ruffle, but it has just about met the end of it's life.  So, in my quest to redo her room, I've been asking Mallory what she would love her room to look like.  :-)  She's dreaming of a princess room filled with lots of pink!  And, it must have a canopy bed!!!

Look at this GORGEOUS canopy bed from CSN Stores!!!!  Wouldn't this be beautiful in Mallory's room?!?!  This is only one of the hundreds of bedroom furniture choices this online store has to offer!  Thanks to the great folks at CSN Stores, I have been selected as a CSN Preferred Blogger and have been given the opportunity to review one of their products from any of their 200+ stores!!!!  Check back soon when I reveal the product I chose and see what I decide to do with Mallory's room.  :-)

Wonderful Wednesday - Cookies with Cousins and Awards

Cousin Grant and Mallory

It just doesn't get any better than this!  :-)

Jack and his cookie... he was much too interested in eating than smiling at the camera!  HA!

Last week, I was blessed with 2 sweet awards from a fellow blogger!  It's so humbling to know that people actually follow your blog and enjoy it enough to honor you with an award.  A Mom After God's Own Heart selected me to receive these two awards...

Each of these awards is special to me and a treasure!  Thank you so much for honoring me with these.  And, if you haven't checked out A Mom After God's Own Heart blog yet, please do so!!  Expect to be blessed!!!

In accepting these awards, I have to tell 7 things about myself and then pass them along to 12 of my favorite blogs.... so here goes!

1.  I was born and raised in Tyler and have never left here.  I was fortunate to go to Tyler Junior College and The University of Texas at Tyler, so I never had to leave home!
2.  In highschool, my drill team nickname was "Dorothy"... you know... "There's No Place Like Home".  :-)
3.  My mom and I are best friends - we do everything together and it is such a blessing!!!
4.  The joys of my life are my children, Jack & Mallory.
5.  My daddy is my hero.
6.  I love to sing and am blessed with a fabulous church music program that I have the privilege of singing in.
7.  I am thankful for my relationship with Jesus and love sharing the blessings He has so graciously given me.

Now for the 12 blogs I wish to honor...
  1. The Skaggs
  2. The Gentrys
  3. Gadi Knights

I've been telling you a lot about Swag Bucks lately, so I wanted to remind you that TODAY is MEGA SWAG BUCKS DAY!!!  Friday's are Mega Swag Bucks days where you can earn Swagbucks in increments of 10, 20, 50 and even 100!  If you haven't tried Swagbucks yet, you're seriously missing out.  You can earn great prizes (amazon, sephora, disney, macy's, starbucks, iphones, lots of other electronics!), gift cards, and even cash for doing something you already do - searching the internet!

How do I earn my swagbucks quickly?  I downloaded the Swagbucks toolbar and use it for every single search I do.  It's powered by Google, so it's the same quality search engine that Google is!  But unlike Google, you win prizes when you search using Swagbucks.

Because today is Mega Swag Bucks day, it's the perfect day to start earning swagbucks!  Be sure to sign up and download the swagbucks toolbar.  You'll be given 30 swagbucks as a sign up bonus!  As always, let me know if you have any questions or if you're already earning swagbucks, let me know what you think about it!!

Aww, MAN!

Today while shopping in Walmart, I passed a lady who was talking on her cell phone.  Right as I passed by her, she said, "Awwww, Man!"  Immediately, Jack mocked her with the same voice inflection and everything.  "Awwww, man!" he said.  SO FUNNY!  To hear that little baby voice mimick her was hilarious.  And, he continued to say it the whole time we were there!  He even used facial expressions and wrinked his brow.  It was a sight to see!  HA!

Scholastic Storybook Treasures - Review

I absolutely LOVE this Sing-Along Travel Kit I was given to review!!!!  Scholastic Storybook Treasures does not disappoint with this collection of 2 dvd's, a 13-song cd, a 38 page activity booklet, crayons, and travel tips... awesome!!!  Mallory and Jack have watched the dvd's over and over while just traveling around town this summer.  I can only imagine how wonderful this collection would be on a long road trip!

When our travel kit arrived, Mallory couldn't wait to open it!

Here's what the kit includes...

Mallory wouldn't wait for our family trip in July to try out the colors and activity book.  She immediately sat down and got to work!

She loves activity books like this especially when they feature her favorite characters!

Here's a little more info about the kit from a press release...

NEW YORK – Every parent is all too familiar with the glazed-over, million-mile stare, as their children sit staring at some mindless form of entertainment or pushing the buttons on their game controllers. With a DVD player or Nintendo DS in every minivan, today’s tuned-out child can take their passive entertainment on vacation, too.

This summer, SCHOLASTIC STORYBOOK TREASURES™ puts an end to the million-mile stare with a creative, interactive and handy take-along product: SCHOLASTIC STORYBOOK TREASURES™ THE WHEELS ON THE BUS SING-ALONG TRAVEL KIT ($24.95 SRP). Designed to provide kids ages 3-9 with hours of immersive fun – whether on a plane, train or automobile – the kit features two musical DVDs featuring 15 animated literary classics, a CD with 13 sing-along songs, a 34-page activity booklet loaded with games and activities to support early math and reading skills, crayons, and helpful travel tips for parents. Everything is packaged in a colorful and portable travel case, turning the set into a fun-filled, go-anywhere mini-suitcase for kids! This summer travel season, THE WHEELS ON THE BUS SING-ALONG TRAVEL KIT will be the only trip insurance families need.

About the featured DVDs and CD:

· The Wheels on the Bus...and more sing-along favorites – A Parents’ Choice GOLD Award winner! (adapted from the picture book by Paul O. Zelinsky) The classic children's ditty comes to glorious life with Paul O. Zelinsky's eye-popping art and a lively musical score by The Bacon Brothers. The DVD includes sixmore stories too!

· There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Fly...and more sing along favorites (adapted from the picture book by Simms Taback) There was an old lady who swallowed a fly, and no one knows why. What else can she eat? This favorite childhood song is performed by Cyndi Lauper. The DVD includes seven more stories for more than an hour of sing-along musical fun.

· The audio CD features these sing-along story songs: The Wheels on the Bus, The Fox Went Out on a Chilly Night, Dinosaur Bones, Chicka Chicka 123, Donut Make You feel So Good, Dem Bones, He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands, Everything’s Better (When You Come Together), Over in the Meadow, The Erie Canal, Frog Went A-Courtin’, Tooth School Anthem, and Gonna Read to My Bunny.

Hi! Allow me to introduce myself!

My name is Mandy and I'm the owner of this blog.  I've been AWOL for about a week now due to the fun, busy days that this summer has brought.  I feel like I need to re-aquaint myself with everyone... it feels like forever since I've posted anything!

I had the privilege of meeting a fellow blogger today at lunch!  Ashley from The Blessed Nest came over and introduced herself to me today.  It was so neat to officially meet her!  She and I have been reading each other's blogs for awhile so it was fun to actually meet the sweet girl behind the blog.  :-)  Ashley, thanks so much for coming over to say hi today!  I'm so glad we got to meet each other.

We've had a wonderful summer so far.  Mallory had two weeks of swimming lessons that consumed our mornings.  She did great and even jumped off the diving board on the last day!

Our evenings have been filled with golf tournaments, baby showers, church choir rehearsals, softball meetings (for Brad's sports reach prison ministry), and late night trips to Andy's for ice cream!!!  Things have been extremely busy, but we're having fun!  I'm hoping next week slows down just a little bit, though.

Today is my anniversary!  Brad and I have been married for 12 years!!!  :-)  He's playing softball with the prison ministry team today, so we celebrated last night with dinner at Olive Garden.  It was delicious and we stuffed ourselves full!

Jack is growing up so fast.  He has started saying "I wuv you" and it absolutely melts my heart!  Fruit is his favorite food and he LOVES blueberries!!  He could down an entire pint of them if I'd let him.  He also loves Coke and begs for it when we're out at restaurants.... "oke!  oke!"  He is still Mallory's shadow and mimicks everything she does!  I let them take a bubble bath together one night and they had a blast!

I guess that's about all I have to report right now.  :-)  HA!  I have several reviews coming up and another GREAT giveaway!!!!  So stay tuned!  :-)  I look forward to hearing from you and hope you are all having a fabulous summer!
