8 months old

Today Jack turns 8 months old. Where does the time go? My little 6 pound 14 ounce tiny little bundle has grown into an almost 20 pound bundle of love. He is an angel... content, always happy, loves to eat, loves to play, LOVES his big sister! He's just a very good baby. God has blessed us with a precious baby boy!!!

Finally! A new post!!!

Where does the time go! Gracious!!! I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I'd share a few pictures of the kids and give a brief update on us. Since my last post, Jack has had several big milestones. He started giving kisses. He literally opens his mouth, pulls your cheek to his mouth, and plants a wet one on you! It is the sweetest thing. He also started eating a few table foods (orange jello, chocolate syrup from Mommy and a taste of Daddy's ice cream). He also started crawling - on his back! He scoots everywhere! I don't know if he'll ever grow hair in the bald spot he's created on the back of his head. :-) Brad and I participated in the Parent Commitment service at church on February 8th. We promised to bring Jack up in a Christian environment, bring him to church, and share the love of Jesus with him so that one day he can accept the Lord as his savior as we have. It was such a meaningful experience.

Mallory is growing into a beautiful young lady. What a joy she brings to our lives each and every day. She loves to sing!!! She loves the songs from church and the ones I teach her, but she has lately enjoyed writing her own songs! She has become famous for performing her songs at recent family get-togethers. I love the innocence of it all and hope it stays with her for a long, long time. She also loves to dance. You'd never know she doesn't take lessons by the way she waltzes around whenever music is played. The ballerina in her comes alive! She has also become a sweet little mommy to her baby doll, Joy. And imaginative play is her favorite, as Mr. Rabbit, her imaginary friend, is constantly with us wherever we go. Just yesterday she was walking outside and said hello to everything she saw. And everything said hello back. It went something like this... "Hello, tree. Hello, Mallory" "Hello, sidewalk. Hello, Mallory" "Hello, bush. Hello, Mallory." I just love to hear her play like that.

Here are a few pictures from the past month.

Jack Rolled Over!

Jack rolled over a couple of weeks ago! Brad was playing with his new camera and caught it as it actually happened. Jack was smiling through the whole thing!

Firsts...

After weighing in at 15 pounds for his 4 month checkup, Dr. Barret told me I could start Jack on fruits and vegetables. (He's been eating rice cereal since he was 3 months old.) Today I decided to try bananas for the first time and he LOVED them! I think he's going to be a very good eater - yea!! Check out this happy little angel after he downed his first fruit... :-)

Mallory made her first gingerbread house yesterday. Actually, she made a church. She stood a candycorn on the top of the house and created a steeple for her gingerbread church. She loved decorating it with m&m's, marshmallows, and candy corn, but to my surprise she didn't want to eat it. Why? It was too messy! LOL!

Remarks from Mallory

One of these days I'm going to have to write down all the precious things Mallory says! She's really into tv commercials right now and thinks she needs everything that's advertised! Tonight she saw a commercial for Pepcid. She rubbed her tummy and said, "Mommy, you need some of that! I don't want you to get blurry in the night." Yes, blurry was the word she used! LOL! I just hate that blurry feeling, don't you?! :-)

Thanksgiving Treat

Well, I said I wasn't sure how often I'd be doing this and here it is 5 weeks after my last post!

Each year on the Friday following Thanksgiving, my mom & dad take us all to Dallas for a weekend of FUN! We girls always hit the sales, the guys play golf, we go to a Stars game, and do more shopping. This year, Daddy surprised us with individual rooms at The Gaylord Texan! Oh my! That place is gorgeous!!!! And to top it all off, we got to go to the ICE show - a 9 degree extravaganza of ice sculptures, ice slides, and amazing creations made from ice. To me this was Disney World in Texas! We had a blast!!!! Here are a few pics from the weekend.

Dorothy & Daddy

Halloween has always been double fun for my family. It's a great night of trick-or-treating and it's Daddy's birthday! This year we all went to eat at The Butcher Shop and then returned home for red-velvet cake and presents. Mallory dressed as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. I thought she looked precious. Grant was a little pumpkin - sooooo adorable. And Jack & Micah dressed in little halloween onesies. Here are a few pictures from the evening....
