New Kitchen and Office Window Treatments plus accessories!!!

When we moved into this house about 2 1/2 months ago, I had planned to leave the windows in the kitchen completely bare.  They were beautifully framed out with stained wood and I loved the way they looked!!!  But, last night, I was digging through my stash of old window treatments and tablecloths that I had custom made for homes we once lived in.  I came across the balloon curtains my Nanny had made for my very first home 11 years ago.  My Nanny was an incredible seamstress!  I brought them out and couldn't believe how well they went with the wallpaper in this kitchen.  If you remember, the wallpaper in my kitchen was original to the house and I wasn't a big fan of it.  But, since it was going to cost WAY more than we could afford to have it taken down, textured, and painted, I decided to live with it ~ for now.  :-)  So, back to the window... I pulled the curtains out and did some measuring.... I started getting excited when I figured they would fit on these kitchen windows, too!!!

Here are some before and after photos....

Here is an upclose view of one of the balloon panels.  I am just amazed at how the colors and patterns match each other.  And ya know what?  I don't dislike that wallpaper near as much. ;-)

I was so pleased with the outcome and how warm those curtains made the kitchen, I decided to keep searching my stash to see what else I might find!  When I found the curtains I had made for my master bedroom and bath for our first home, I knew they would be perfect in my office!!!  The red toile was definitely in style and matched the wallcolor perfectly!  Here are some before and after photos...

Red toile curtains lined with red check

My Nanny had made this chair cushion for my mom and it fit perfectly in my rocking chair!!!

I made this stool years ago and had been using it in my bathroom.  It looks much better in here with the new toile theme!

I re-covered the seat of this desk chair in toile fabric.

And I added these toile plates and framed verse above my desk.

Here's a look at my computer desk and sewing  area with their new accessories!

And a look from the door as you enter the room...
It really came together!!

Oh, and I got this lamp at Kirklands!  It was on sale for $29.99, but I used a coupon and got 15% off!!!  Woo-hoo!!!!  With the little swivel light, it is perfect for my work area!!!

And finally, I brought in this clock that I was using in my bathroom.  It's supposed to have photos in it, but I put some red toile fabric in the picture spots instead.

So, what do you think???  I just love re-using and re-purposing old things.

Hooray for a good repurpose! I'm a big fan of red toile, too. That is beautiful wood in the dining room. Way to make everything work with what you have!

Love the red toile - valances are so unique, angled on only one side - great idea! And I love the stool, too!

I love that red toile and of course...the balloon curtains from your nana...you'd think she made them to go with the wall paper, fantastic! I like it a lot, keep the wall paper. Great finds, right at home! Come over, I found things at home too!

I like the curtains, esp. the ones in the office. Did you put the wallpaper up in the kitchen? It matches the curtains! Your newest follower.

Wow! That's a big improvement. It looked alright before, but it looks way better now. It's really amazing how those curtains were able to improve the look of your kitchen.
