Scholastic Storybook Treasures DVD Reviews

Building upon the popular trend of babies learning to communicate by sign language, Scholastic Storybook Treasures has launched a new American Sign Language DVD series helping to jump start sign language learning for children ages 2 to 9.  I had the privilege of reviewing the newest release, FIVE LITTLE MONKEYS JUMPING ON THE BED... ANE MORE GREAT CHILDREN'S STORIES.  This fabulous dvd collection brings several beloved children's books to rich life with voice narration, sign language, and catchy musical scores.  The DVD also supports vocabulary, comprehension, and fine motor skills.  And, I must add that both of my kids love the rhythm, rhyme, and repetition of these fun stories.  This DVD set was just released on August 24th and is available at http://www.newkideo.com/ and retail stores nationwide.  We are excited to have this dvd set in our collection and are proud to say it's become one of our all time favorites!!!  Stories included on this dvd are Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, Little Quack, and There's Something in My Attic.

We were also blessed to receive the ADVENTURES IN SCHOOL DVD set!  This set was a perfect collection for us to watch as we prepared Mallory for school.  The 3-dvd set includes The Teacher from the Black Lagoon, Miss Nelson Has a Field Day, and Crazy Hair Day.  These 3 dvd's combine to bring you 14 stories that support cooperation, early reading skills, and problem solving.  As a childhood fan of the Miss Nelson books, I was thrilled to receive these dvd's for my children!!  The award winning stories are brought to life and are a delight to watch.  This collection is also available at http://www.newkideo.com/ and retail stores nationwide.

***Many thanks to Beth at Foundry Communications for this fabulous opportunity!!!  I received these dvd's for review purposes only.  No other compensation was received.  The opinions expressed are entirely my own.
